Homology and Alignment

Protein homologs of HLA-DQA1

Homologous proteins are those that are derived from a common ancestor, and may have evolved independently from one another in various species. Based on results obtained using Homologene, I found protein homologs of HLA-DQA1 in a few different species.  The four species that I chose to highlight in this homology analysis are: chimpanzee, domestic dog, mouse, and rat.

Pan troglodytes (chimpanzee)
Protein name: HLA-DQA1
Accession number: XP_527352.2

Canis lupus familiaris (domestic dog)
Protein name: HLA-DQA1
Accession number:
NP_001011726.1
Mus musculus (mouse)
Protein name: H2-Aa
Accession number: NP_034508.2

Rattus norvegicus  (rat)
Protein name: RT1-Ba
Accession number:
NP_001008831.1
